Ănūbis, is and ĭdis (acc. Anubin, Prop. 4, 10, 41: Anubim, Plin. 33, 9, 46, § 131 Jan), m., = Ἄνουβις [Egyptian], an Egyptian deity which was represented with the head of a dog (cf. Müll. Archaeol. § 408), tutelary deity of the chase: latrator Anubis, Verg. A. 8, 698; so Ov. Am. 2, 13, 11.
