querquĕrus or quercĕrus, a, um, adj. [cf. Gr. καρκαίρω, to tremble], cold to trembling, shivering (ante- and post-class.): querqueram frigidam cum tremore a Graeco κάρκαρα certum est dici, unde et carcer.
