tondĕo, tŏtondi, tonsum, 2 (collat. form acc. to the third conj.: OVES TONDVNTVR, Calend. ap. Grut. 138), v. a. [for tomdeo; root in Gr. τέμνω, to cut], to shear, clip, crop, to shave, etc.
